Two S1 Sub-Fauxment (sneaky) Moments to consider…

To start, the term “fauxment” is used to describe an NBA TS moment where the “most prominently featured player is not actually the one listed on the play” (credits to Packrip ewing). This is an important concept to understand as a lot of these moments could end up being highly sought after in the future. For example, the new Mario Chalmers assist which is basically a sick Lebron windmill dunk.

This is basically his first Miami heat moment to hit NBA TS & is currently wavering around the $10-$15 dollar mark in lowest ask. This is a must for any NBA TS collector regardless if you are a whale or not!

Now, lets get right into it. I am going to be analyzing 2 moments that I believe hold lots of potential to an NBA fan. While they may not be the most prominently featured player, I do believe they hold very strong context. Here are the sub-fauxment moments:

The Cheap One

Eric Gordon S1 Common 3pt ($50 — $55)
- (James Harden 70 foot assist)

First off, Eric Gordon is a respectable NBA player. He may not be amongst the popular players in the league but he has had a 14 year NBA career with an career 16.6 PPG. That commands respect amongst coaches, teammates, & all fans across the league.

But James Harden is featured with a spectacular 70 foot assist. No need to go through James Harden’s resume in Houston except that he had 32 games consecutively with 30 points or more in a game. That is only behind the great, Wilt Chamberlain.

I love this moment because of:

  • the cool assist
  • Its a Playoff bubble moment!
  • Scarcity of (1500)
  • Sick-ass buzzer beater to end 3Q
  • 3pt over CP3!
  • The “WR” grab by Gordon

Considering all these factors that come into account, this makes the $50 dollar lowest ask mark seem to good to be true. Definitely a moment to consider in the long run.

The Pricey One

2) S1 TS Debut/Championship year Rajon Rondo Assist ($240 — $270)

  • Lebron Dunk in Bubble!

Rajon Rondo will always have a great legacy as an important contributor to championship teams. Rajon Rondo in Boston was one of my favorite PGs growing up. Even though he didn’t have a jumpshot, he always had great vision for the court with surreal passing abilities & high basketball IQ. The lakers certainly missed that last year as Rondo had a humbling reaction to hearing that Lebron & AD missed him in last year’s playoffs.

But in this moment, Rondo steals the ball away from Jamal & goes on the fastbreak. He drops an easy dime to King James for the easy dunk in the bubble.

I love this moment because:

  • It is a Western-Conference Finals bubble moment
  • TS debut & championship badge
  • Scarcity of (2077)
  • Any moment with King James reigns supreme!
  • Lebron’s 1st & maybe only championship season with the Lakers

With these factors meshed in the moment, I see this being regarded with historic significance. Definitely a moment I plan to add into my collection sometime soon.

Thank you for reading & I hope you all enjoy your adventurous collecting journeys on NBA TS!
