Top 6 Undervalued, Cheap Moments on NBA Top Shot (Series 2)

In this article, I target cheap moments (all currently under $10 dollars) that are commons & have a circulating count (CC) of 40,000 or 35,000. These moments are based off Series 2 (Season 2) on NBA Top Shot (2020–2021 NBA season). Some of these moments have historical context or are memorable moments from the NBA season. This is a great way for new collectors to purchase moments that are a pivotal piece of NBA history. This is all my opinion & here are your Top 6 undervalued, cheap moments!

6. Carmelo Anthony (3-Pointer)

• On May 3rd, 2021, the Blazers played the Hawks. On a possession, Carmelo had the ball, sizing up Danilo Gallinari. He does a crossover to the left, then a little hesi-dribble & pulls up, hitting the triple. This was Carmelo’s 27,314th point in the NBA, making the 10-time All-Star the 10th all-time scorer in the NBA. Carmelo is 37 years old & may only crack a season or two more. It is likely that demand will outweigh the supply of Carmelo moments on Top Shot due to his popularity. You will own a great piece of history!

5. Chris Paul (Assist)

• On March 21, 2021, CP3 & the Suns were playing the Lakers. CP3 drives the ball to the left-side of half court. Jae Crowder sets a nice pick on the defender so CP3 can get free. He drives to the right & floats an alley-oop to Deandre Ayton who slams it home. This was CP3’s 10,000th assist of his NBA career. This moment is something to cherish for the 11-time All-Star, future HOF PG. He is also 36 years old & father time is knocking. But his team is in the Western Conference Finals! If CP3 gets a ring this year, expect this moment to appreciate in months to come!

4. Talen Horton-Tucker (Dunk)

• This moment is the NFL converting into the NBA! Lebron James is the QB & throws a ridiculous full-court pass over a defender to the WR, Talen Horton-Tucker. THT splits the defenders & throws down a one-handed hammer at the buzzer to end the 3rd quarter, This is definitely one of Lebron’s most memorable assists in his career & it could almost be regarded as his moment due to the pass. THT has a lot of potential & is a bright spot on the Lakers roster!

3. Jayson Tatum (Assist)

• I am 90% sure that this might go down as Tatum’s best assist of all-time! On January 30th, 2021, the Celtics were facing their historic rival, the Lakers. Jayson Tatum is chasing a loose ball near half-court & throws an insane behind-the-back, hail-mary pass to Robert Williams for the easy dunk. The pass was pin-point perfect as he hit Robert on stride, giving AD no chance to contest the dunk. Jayson Tatum is only 22 years old & is already one of the best players in the NBA. This is one that will go down as one of the best moments on the platform for sure!

2. Jamal Murray (Assist)

• This will definitely be in Jamal’s career highlights video on Youtube. On March 12, 2021, the Nuggets were facing the Grizzlies. Jamal tries going iso-ball on Dillion Brooks but Dillion has him contained. Jamal sees Jokic cutting to the paint & Jamal does a ridiculous behind-the-back pass to Jokic. It hits him perfectly on stride for Jokic to finish with an easy layup. The fact that the 2021 MVP is in this moment raises it’s value significantly. Plus, Jamal is a star in the NBA & the Nuggets will be a top contender in the Western Conference for years to come!

1. Trae Young (3-Pointer)

• On January 26th, 2021, Trae Young & the Hawks were facing the Clippers. It had also been exactly one year since the NBA legend Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna Bryant & seven others tragically died in a helicopter crash. It was a day filled with emotions in the NBA. Trae Young sizes up his defender & pulls up near the logo, burying the deep 3-pointer. He then points to the logo & signals the number 24 while saying 24, giving a nod to one of the greats in all of sports. No more needs to be said. I love this moment & it will go down as one of the best moments to ever hit the platform, ever.
